  2. What is banned? Websites with inappropriate content such as pornography, gambling and dating websites. Swear words in lyrics of songs mostly on the radio Websites that provide hacking systems Content that discriminates morals, traditions and the religion of the UAE Content that allows illegal crimes such as purchasing and selling of drugs

  3. Why is it banned? The UAE is a muslim country that respects its religious and cultural morals. Inappropriate content is banned as the majority of the people would feel offended towards any incongruous media. Hacking systems threaten the safety of the citizens in the country. By banning these software, civilians are guaranteed safety in regards to credit card details and other personal information.

  4. Comparison Pros Citizens are safe from cyber crimes and being hacked. Cons VPN software can be used to bypass these rules. People live in harmony, as offensive content is unavailable to them. Some content is unnecessarily banned. Illegal acts cannot be accessed in the country. Other methods of illegal acts will still occur. Children are not easily exposed to offensive material such as swear words. Freedom of speech is taken away.
