  12. November 2023 doc.: IEEE 802.11-23/1765r0 Updates from ITU-R WP5A: Contributions Observations(1/2) [ 825 ] Completion of the preliminary draft revision of Recommendation ITU-R M.1450-5 - Characteristics of broadband radio local area networks Proposal Adding technical characteristics applicable to the operation of RLANs in the frequency band 5 925-6 425 MHz in Mexico for Section 6 of Annex 2. Suggests to keep Section 6 and Table 2 therein. Table 3 in Annex 3 summarizes the frequency ranges and technical characteristics in the Radiocommunication Regulations (RR) is out of the scope. [ 817 ]Proposal on the modification of the working document towards a preliminary draft revision of Recommendation ITU-R M.1450-5 Proposal Sharing study should be conducted on WAS/RLAN because use cases are beyond fixed indoor. Remove reference to ITU-R F.2086-1 related to Fixed service. M.1450 should only recommend the RLAN use in the frequency band below 5 925 MHz; frequency band above 5 925 MHz could be considered in future revision of M.1450. Send liaison to ITU-R WP5C to consult on the use of RLAN under Fixed Service allocation. [ 791 ] Completion of the preliminary draft revision of Recommendation ITU-R M.1450-5 - Characteristics of broadband radio local area networks Proposal Canada proposes that WP 5A uses the attachment to finalize the draft revision of Recommendation ITU-R M.1450-5 for submission to SG 5. 13. November 2023 doc.: IEEE 802.11-23/1765r0 Updates from ITU-R WP5A: Contributions Observations (2/2) [ 819 ] China (People's Republic of) Proposal on upgrade the working document towards a preliminary draft revision of Recommendation ITU-R F.1763-1 (Radio interface standards for broadband wireless access systems in the fixed service operating below 66 GHz) Proposal Proposed that the working document could be elevated to preliminary draft revision of the Recommendation in this WP 5A meeting. Reply liaison statement to Working Party 5A - Update of Recommendation ITU-R M.1801 Proposal Working Party 5D noted that Recommendation ITU-R M.1801 in Annexes 2, 3 and 4 and Table 5 of Annex 10 reproduced some of the information from the existing ITU-R Recommendations relating to the IMT-2000, IMT-Advanced and IMT-2020. Concerns were expressed regarding such duplication of information in different Recommendations of ITU-R. Therefore, WP 5D invites WP 5A to revise Recommendation ITU-R M.1801 by simply adding only references to Recommendation ITU-R M.1457 Detailed specifications of the terrestrial radio interfaces of International Mobile Telecommunications-2000, Recommendation ITU-R M.2012 Detailed specifications of the terrestrial radio interfaces of International Mobile Telecommunications Advanced (IMT-Advanced) and Recommendation ITU-R M.2150 Detailed specifications of the terrestrial radio interfaces of International Mobile Telecommunications-2020 (IMT-2020) in order to mitigate the concerns expressed by WP 5D. Report ITU-R M.[BB-WAS-FREQ]: Results: IEEE objection [ 799 ] IEEE 802'S views on Annex 17 to Document 5A/597 to creating the Report noted. Other administrations including US are also objecting. No decision on this report. 2. Annex 7 Recommendation ITU-R M.1801: Results: A Drafting Group created a drafting group, chaired by Dr. Jose Costa (Canada), to develop further the working document towards a preliminary draft revision of Recommendation ITU-R M.1450-5 and M.1801 by including the proposals in the input contributions. The output reflects those contributions and further edits proposed by delegates during the drafting group meeting. Some members are of the view that sharing studies should be performed before characteristics or standards can be recommended and other members are of the view that the systems would operate under an allocated radiocommunication service in accordance with the RR, so sharing studies should only be considered on a case-by-case basis when needed. The document was advanced to PRELIMINARY DRAFT . Output documents: RLAN & BWA standards: continued the development of preliminary draft revision of Recommendation ITU-R M.1801-2 Radio interface standards for broadband wireless access systems, including mobile and nomadic applications, in the mobile service (Annex 7 to Doc. 5A/837).
