Investigating the Evolution of 2D Foam Structures
Explore the structure and evolution of 2D foams enclosed between glass sheets, where soap foam forms a network of polygons. This study discusses the experimental setup, pros, cons, and discussions on bubble popping ability.

PROBLEM Soap foam enclosed between two glass sheets appears as a network of polygons. Such foams evolve with time, as individual bubbles move and coalesce, and the liquid drains out. Investigate the structure and evolution of 2D foams. 2
REPORTER Pros Cons No predictions or hypotheses We would draw them from literature and Had only one concentration (50 %) We wold have tested more in order to be able to compare the results. Explained vocabulary of the research (drainage etc.) Varius soaps Enough time measuring points 4 different phenomenons 3
OPPONENT Pros Cons Failed to mention missing hypotheses which is a large error Not mentiond time Critizised poor explanation of the theory and experimental setup Critiqued not enough repeating Agree, there should be at least 3 measurings in order for results Critiqued not large enough time span Agree because the results were still drasticly changing when the research was stoped. 4
DISCUSSION Ability for each bubble to pop Agree that not all the bubbles can pop because of a lot of water 5
