UKSPF Prospectus - Communities and Place Objectives Strengthening our social fabric and fostering a sense of local pride and belonging, through investment in activities that enhance physical, cultural and social ties and amenities, such as community infrastructure and local green space, and community-led projects. North Yorkshire Building resilient, safe and healthy neighbourhoods, through investment in quality places that people want to live, work, play and learn in, through targeted improvements to the built environment and innovative approaches to crime prevention. Village Halls and Community Buildings The Community Buildings and Village Halls grants fund aims to improve access to and facilities in community buildings and village halls that result in greater community participation and levels of volunteering. The fund will support improvements to buildings and purchases of large capital equipment. As this scheme is funded by Rural England Prosperity Fund (REPF), projects in Scarborough, Harrogate and Knaresborough are unfortunately not eligible. Applications from businesses and individuals are not eligible for this fund. Funding Available 2023/2024 - 100,000 2024/2025 - 450,000 Grants are 5k - 49.95k Capital funding Ineligible expenditure: Recoverable VAT Costs related to buildings or improvements not available for use by the whole community Eligible Expenditure Costs relating to essential or urgent repairs and maintenance External and internal improvements to the Community Building or Village Hall that improve accessibility and use. Fixtures, fittings and large pieces of equipment. General decoration and refurbishment costs. VILLAGE HALLS AND COMMUNITY BUILDINGS SPECIFICATION OFFICIAL

  6. Sport and Active Travel Places, Spaces, People Access to be physically active, and the benefits that it brings, are not the same for all of the population. The purpose of this fund is to support groups and organisations to improve or extend their reach to a wider section of their community. Funding Available Mix of capital and revenue 2023/2024 - 150k 2024/2025 - 575k Grants between 3k - 20k Want to do more to engage and reach those who are more likely to be physically inactive. These groups of people are: Culturally diverse communities Those on low income or living in areas of deprivation Long term health conditions People with a disability People in rural areas Children and young people SPORT AND ACTIVE TRAVEL PLACES, SPACES, PEOPLESPECIFICATION OFFICIAL

  7. Community Decarbonisation Support Trusted specialist Advice Advice will be provided on a range of topics, including energy, circular economy, climate adaptation and supporting nature to thrive. The advice will be provided free of charge through in-house advisors and specialist consultancy support. Advice could include: identifying, prioritising and developing projects, including technical information on energy efficiency and renewable energy accessing funding and investment opportunities having effective conversations with key stakeholders and your community and enabling collaboration; and overcoming key challenges in project delivery including governance requirements Place based decarbonisation plans Decarbonisation plans will be available for community buildings and places such as a whole village or community setting. We expect to fund around 20 plans. The plans will review opportunities for: energy efficiency, low carbon heating renewable energy generation and storage options decarbonising transport circular economy - making the most of our resources, buildings and people, and minimising waste climate resilience and adaptation supporting nature to thrive - where this has greenhouse gas reduction or adaptation impacts estimated costs and return on investment for the plan items will be included COMMUNITY DECARBONISATION SUPPORT SPECIFICATION OFFICIAL

Community Decarbonisation Grants Provide revenue and capital grants for greenhouse gas reduction or climate adaptation activities, for example, minimising waste, shifting to low carbon transport. Grants will be available for activity in the following areas: energy efficiency, low carbon heating renewable energy generation, storage options and grid capacity decarbonising transport circular economy opportunities - making the most of our resources, buildings and people, and minimising waste climate resilience and adaption supporting nature to thrive Funding available: 613k Mix of capital and revenue grants Grants are between 1k and 49.95k. Match funding is required - up to 20%. Match funding can be in 'cash' or 'in kind', for example using volunteer time. Who can apply? Voluntary or community organisations operating in North Yorkshire including: registered charities CICs or CIO s community benefit societies not-for-profit companies limited by guarantee parish and town councils Project related planning permission and building regulations must be in place or have been applied for at the time of application. Communities Grant Programme The community grant programme is for local grass roots activities, community engagement projects, training or projects, linked to one of the following priorities: Increased community action, engagement and participation. Increased community resilience. Increased opportunities for volunteering. Financial inclusion. Improved access to facilities and services, particularly in rural communities. Development of local action plans, and local networks and partnerships. Example expenditure: Cost associated with running the event/project. Volunteer expenses Essential travel costs. Materials and small items of capital equipment. Promotion and marketing. Venue hire. 2023/2024 - 300,000 2024/2025 - 300,000 Grants are 2k - 20k All revenue funding Ineligible expenditure: On-going salary/overheads Capital works to building Large scale capital equipment Applications opened on the 1st November and application process will close on the 30th September 2024 or when all funds have been allocated. Support for Young and Older People An innovative grant pot that can support projects to provide additional targeted and intensive support to young people and older people to help them access, sustain and progress in training and employment. Priority areas for work will include: pre 'not in education, employment, or training Preventative work with young people (14-18) Support for graduates support for young people 18-24 including mental health support support for over 50s to re-engage in labour market Funding available: 336,000 - 2024/2025 All revenue funding Application process opened up on the 1st November 2023 All delivery must be fully completed by 31 March 2025 All projects developed under this programme, including all partner delivery must be fully completed by 31 March 2025 Applications are welcome from partnerships, individual organisations and include voluntary, community, public and private sector organisations. All People and Skills Opportunities Engaging and Progressing People This fund is aimed at the development and delivery of key worker specialist intervention support model designed to break down barriers for: economically inactive people to help them move towards education, training, and employment/people in work to support them to stay in work and progress their career Increasing levels of digital inclusion This funding will provide support to enable voluntary, community and social enterprise organisations, including community groups managing village halls and community buildings, to access resources and training to become digital hubs . Community based information, advice and guidance To improve access to high quality information, advice and guidance for residents, those both working and non-working, within their local communities. This funding will support the development and delivery of training for workers and volunteers to be more confident in their information, advice and guidance support offer. Attracting new investment through strategic growth, specialist skills programme To fund the development and delivery of training to businesses and their supply chain who are working within the 5 priority sectors identified as being critical to delivering economic growth in the region. Support for young and older people An innovative grant pot that can support projects to provide additional targeted and intensive support to young people and older people to help them access, sustain and progress in training and employment. Green skills training programme for career leaders To fund the design and delivery of a training programme for careers leaders, supporting their increased knowledge and confidence in green skills and careers advice. This activity will focus on but is not limited to the delivery of training to careers leaders in schools and colleges, as well as independent careers advisors. Green construction skills retrofit training programme Research/consultation has shown a significant amount of social housing across North Yorkshire is in need of retrofitting, including renewable heating systems, ventilation and insulation. This fund aims to address the lack of current workforce with the necessary skills to undertake the work by developing and delivering a comprehensive training programme. OFFICIAL
