  2. S E N S E Your character has just arrived on this island and this will be their home for the next 2 months! Beautiful green palm trees surround them and the crystal blue ocean can be heard lapping up the shore However, with no technology to entertain them or even to ask for help. How will they cope? Their adventure lays in your hands

  3. Create a mind map around this image. Use these lenses to build up some ideas. Ive added an example for you. Smell Taste Touch/Feel Notice/ See Hear Soft golden sand cooled bare feet Salty air bit at her tongue Build up lots of ideas to help when it comes to writing our first paragraph.

  4. Sentence challenge! Find a sentence to my story starter below. At that moment, as a faint rainbow painted the sky with colour, I felt a sense of anticipation about our time on the island. 1. Can you find the subordinate clause in this sentence? 2. Can you change the subordinate clause to provide detail about a different part of the photograph? 3. Can you add an adverb to the verb painted? Does your sentence still make sense?

  5. Question time! Who is telling the story? Who are they with? Why have the people arrived on the island for two months? If you had the chance to go on an island adventure and could only take 3 things, what would you take? Who would you choose to go with you and why? Where do you think this island might be?
