Purpose The purpose of this presentation is to: provide a summary of ISO 10013:2021, Quality management Guidance for documented information. present the recent revision needs ISO/TC 176/TG 01
Introduction Introduction to ISO 10013:2021 ISO 9001 requires an organization to maintain and retain documented information to support the operation of its processes and to have confidence that the processes are being carried out as planned. Documented information is information required to be controlled and maintained by an organization and the medium on which documented information is stored/contained should be specified. Documented information can be used to communicate, to provide evidence of what was planned has been done, or for sharing knowledge. This standard provides guidance for the maintenance of all quality management system documented information. ISO/TC 176/TG 01
Updates Revision to ISO/TR 10013:2001 Has been changed from an informative guide to a real recommendation document Has been aligned with the new structure and requirements of ISO 9001:2015, notably the documentation requirements Original hierarchy of documentation is no longer used but left open for the user ISO/TC 176/TG 01

Benefits Benefits of using ISO 10013:2021 Shows how documented information can be used to preserve the experiences of the organization and can generate value to improve the provision of products or services Assists an organization with documenting its quality management system Explains the different types of documented information and the purpose of each Provides guidance on different ways to organize documented information. May be used to support management systems other than that of the ISO 9000 family (e.g. environmental management systems, occupational health/safety management systems) ISO/TC 176/TG 01
