Federmeccanica Employers Federation of the Italian Metalworking Industry (MET) Identity Founded in 1971, it is a non-profit and apolitical organisation associated to Confindustria (the General Confederation of Italian Industry). Federmeccanica is a second level association. Mission Represent and assist its members companies in their relations with Trade Unions and State institutions. Numbers 70 MET Groups, 16.000 companies, 800.000 employees. Europe Member representing metal, engineering, and technology based industries. of CEEMET, the European Employers Organization

Five Departments Industrial Relations Department 1 o Renewal of the Sectorial NCA; o information and advisory assistance to members in relation to the National Collective Agreement and problems concerning employment, social, and union matters; o development of initiatives relations in the metalworking industry; o representation of the interests of the metalworking sector in technical committees regarding union issues, both inside and outside the Confederation; o relations with local Industrial Associations, Trade Associations and Confindustria. regarding industrial

Five Departments Economic and Statistical Department 2 o Analysis of documentation on the development, structure, and current economic situation of the metalworking industry; o monitoring of labour dynamics, processing, and simulation of pay models; o periodical statistical surveys on the economic and industrial relations of the Metalworking Industry.

Five Departments Education and Training Department 3 o Promotion of school work alternance by means of apprenticeship, traineeship, alternance projects, ITS, etc; o promotion of continuing training through the National Collective Agreement; o identification of those competencies necessary to companies to reduce the skills gap; o vocational guidance and vocational training in the metalworking sector at all levels; o industry 4.0 (promotion of a business culture and skills development through targeted training projects and communication campaigns); o member of the CEEMET Education, Training and Employability (ETE) Committee and of Education & Training Working Group (WG E&T) within Sectoral Social Dialogue.

Five Departments International Relations Department 4 o Relations with international bodies and institutions with the purpose of acquiring understanding and information for the implementation of its own activities; o updating of the European legislation on social and employment issues; o publication of comparative studies.
