What did Jesus followers discover at the tomb on that third day (John 20:1-9) ? 1Early on the first day of the week, while it was still dark, Mary Magdalene went to the tomb and saw that the stone had been removed from the entrance. 2So she came running to Simon Peter and the other disciple, the one Jesus loved, and said, They have taken the Lord out of the tomb, and we don t know where they have put him! tomb. 4Both were running, but the other disciple outran Peter and reached the tomb first. 5He bent over and looked in at the strips of linen lying there but did not go in. 6Then Simon Peter came along behind him and went straight into the tomb. He saw the strips of linen lying there, 7as well as the cloth that had been wrapped around Jesus head. The cloth was still lying in its place, separate from the linen. 8Finally the other disciple, who had reached the tomb first, also went inside. He saw and believed. 9(They still did not understand from Scripture that Jesus had to rise from the dead.) http://mballestero.files.wordpress.com/2013/03/mary-at-the-tomb.jpg 1 2 3So Peter and the other disciple started for the 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 http://i94.photobucket.com/albums/l116/salt-n-peppa/1cb5.jpg

  5. What did Jesus teach/explain to His followers after His resurrection? Luke 24:27 And beginning with Moses and all the Prophets, he explained to them what was said in all the Scriptures concerning himself. He said to them, This is what I told you while I was still with you: Everything must be fulfilled that is written about me in the Law of Moses, the Prophets and the Psalms. Luke 24:44 Luke 24:49 I am going to send you what my Father has promised What did Jesus resurrection accomplish? 1 Corinthians 15:12-19 If Jesus was not raised, we would still be in our sins, not forgiven, never being raised from the dead. Ties our justification (God s declaration that we are not guilty) to Jesus resurrection. Jesus resurrection from the dead means that the penalty for sin is paid in full, there is no more wrath of God to bear, no more liability to punishment. Romans 4:25 His resurrection ensures that we will receive perfect resurrection bodies. 1 Corinthians 6:14
