What did Jesus say regarding His return? Be cautious regarding Matthew 24 and Mark 13! Both chapters speak of the destruction of Jerusalem While parallels exist, taking verses from context proves nothing! Matthew 25 Two Parables and One Description vss. 1 13 parable of ten virgins Preparedness vss. 14 30 parable of talents Accountability Vss. 31 46 Description of Judgment Day But NO DATE DECLARED Mark 8: 34 38 Do Not Be Ashamed of Him But NO DATE DECLARED
What the Apostles say of His return 2 Thessalonians 2 These workings began during the first century and will continue until He returns. Our obligation is found in verses 13 17. NO DATE PROCLAIMED 2 Peter 3: 1 13 Many scoff at the reality of His promise Ours is to be ready! 1 John 2: 28 29 We must have confidence in Him and ourselves! We must be found RIGHTEOUS!
What the angel said about His return when He left Acts 1: 9 11 BUT NO DATE DECLARED What did Paul say about it? Acts 17:30 -31 And the times of this ignorance God winked at; but now commandeth all men every where to repent: Because he hath appointed a day, in the which he will judge the world in righteousness by that man whom he hath ordained; whereof he hath given assurance unto all men, in that he hath raised him from the dead.
