General plot summary of Whirligig Brent is a teenager who after getting embarrassed at a party makes the drunk decision to attemp to commit suicide in a car crash He ends up accidentally killing a girl named __________ As retribution for his actions the mother of the girl he killed asks that he creates whirligigs in the 4 corners of the United states. In between chapters we meet characters that in some way or another have had their lives affected by one of Brent s whirligigs On his journey of creating and placing the 4 whirligigs he meets many mentors who aid him in being symbolically reborn after his car crash He comes out of the whole situation a changed person and is no longer the person he was before the crash

Tony Context of lyrics Tony s adopted mother placed him in a box simply because he was Korean and expected way more from him than she did from his other adopted sister from Peru Tony was forced to play the violin by his mother from a young age Tony felt increasing pleasure and eventually just stopped practicing playing the violin This resulted in him doing terribly at a violin recital The man who was playing with Tony explained to his mother that it was time that he had a break from playing the violin and she allowed him too.
