DOCKET TIMES Dockets begin at 9:00 am and are segmented Parties are summoned 30 minutes before the hearing time Contested hearings are scheduled at 1:30 pm When filing pleadings, please include your available dates. A clerk will confirm the date and time with your office.
CASE NUMBERS Each case number is 12 digits The first two digits are either JJ (juvenile cases) or JA (adult cases) The next 6 digits are base numbers that are assigned to a person The next four digits are the document number (petition, warrant, or summons) and subsequent action number. Subsequent actions are motions For example: JJ123456-01-00 = custody petition JA123456-01-00 = A& B warrant JJ123456-01-01 = motion to compel JA123456-01-01 = Violation of CCP Please note: criminal and delinquent motions do not receive a subsequent number
CONSENT ORDERS Address all pending pleadings, including motions, in consent orders Contact the Clerk s Office to ensure you have all of the pending case numbers List all case numbers on the consent order
GUARDIAN AD LITEM REPORTS Reports are to be filed 5 days in advance of the hearing to ensure parties, attorneys and judges have enough time to review the report Parties can come to the Clerk s Office to review the report before the hearing
COURT APPOINTED ATTORNEY LIST You must be qualified by the Supreme Court of Virginia as a GAL and certified through the Virginia Indigent Defense Commission for misdemeanor, felony and juvenile cases to be placed on our Court Appointed Attorney List The list is prepared every 6 months If you are interested in being placed on the list, please send an email to Peggy Davy, the Chief Administrative Assistant
