Health Updates COVID - Average daily cases reported to health department over the past month down to 59 per day, preparing for potential winter increase - Bivalent booster shots available for those over 5 years old - Kane County at Low Community Level , but transmission is Substantial EBOLA - Monitoring travelers from impacted area of Uganda - Health Department notified and monitors symptoms until 21 days after traveler has left Uganda. - No high risk travelers have been identified in Kane County

Funding Updates Gun Violence - Kane County intends to continue hosting Local Advisory Group in Aurora as part of Reimagine Public Safety Act - State funding for community partners should be announced shortly Opioids - Health Department submitting a grant this week to National Association of City and County Health Officials (NACCHO) - Partnership with health department, hospitals, treatment providers, and peer recovery specialists to increase initiation of medication to treat substance use disorders in emergency departments and link with peer.
