Key messages from the Regional Consultative Meeting with Major Groups and Stakeholders from Latin America and the Caribbean Principle 10 of the Rio Declaration: Positive progress achieved. Right path to a regional instrument. Coherence with the participation rights it fosters. Active involvement of all LAC countries. Monitoring and accountability. 10 Year Year Framework of Programmes on SCP (10YFP): Participation on the design, development and implementation stages. Emphasis on the particular challenges of SMEs.
Key messages from the Regional Consultative Meeting with Major Groups and Stakeholders from Latin America and the Caribbean Stakeholders Engagement Policy: Non regression principle. Participation on the Assembly, the CPR and any other subsidiary organ. Accreditation inclusive of local and national organizations. Equal opportunities between Major Groups and Regional Representatives. Barries for Groups with no legal status. Regional Environmental Governance: Search for coherence and armonization between processes. Reduced burden of negotiations and implementation.
Key messages from the Regional Consultative Meeting with Major Groups and Stakeholders from Latin America and the Caribbean Decision 13, XVI LAC Forum of Ministers (Santo Domingo, 2008): (...) promote the strengthening of the UNEP Regional Forums for Civil Society, encouraging the availability of the necessary resources for their implementation. Regional Consultative Meeting have been hosted by Venezuela, Colombia, M xico, Argentina, Chile, Trinidad y Tobago, y Panam , in some cases with the economic support of the government. More support => Wider consultations => Better results. Thank you
