We finish our legacy at the cross, not at control or comfort.
Genesis 22:1-13 God asks Abraham to finish at The Cross
Keys To Finishing Well Never stop listening for God (instead of always being self consumed) Some time later God tested Abraham. He said to him, Abraham! Here I am, he replied. (v1)
You will be ever hearing but never understanding . . .For this people s heart has become calloused; they hardly hear with their ears (Matthew 13:15) We listen to God as much as we give ourselves to God s Word. Be ALL IN with the Bible in this new season.
Keys To Finishing Well We grow more child like instead of more entitled Early the next morning Abraham got up and saddled his donkey. . . When he had cut enough wood for the burnt offering, he set out for the place God had told him (v3)
I tell you the truth, anyone who will not receive the kingdom of God like a little child will never enter it. (Mk 10:15) To honor others you have to humble yourself. Let this be a new season of honoring others to honor God.
Keys To Finishing Well We faith it out more than figure it out where is the lamb for the burnt offering? Abraham answered, God himself will provide the lamb for the burnt offering, my son. And the two of them went on together. (v8)
The Lord provides in the very place of sacrifice. He always does. Give Him the first and control of your finances. And without faith it is impossible to please God, because anyone who comes to him must believe that he exists and that he rewards those who earnestly seek him. (Hebrews 11:6)
Keys To Finishing Well We are finished with trying to have the world and God s promises at the same time He bound his son Isaac and laid him on the altar, on top of the wood. Then he reached out his hand and took the knife to slay his son. (v9-10)
The goal is not success in this world because of Jesus, its choosing Jesus over the world. Take a new step. Anyone who loves his father or mother his son or daughter more than me is not worthy of me; and anyone who does not take his cross and follow me is not worthy of me. Mark 10:37-38
Keys To Finishing Well We give because of what we want the most. because you have not withheld your son, your only son, I will surely bless you and make your descendants as numerous as the stars in the sky and as the sand on the seashore. (v16-17)
Jesus looked around and said to his disciples, How hard it is for the rich to enter the kingdom of God (Mark 10:23) If anyone would come after me, he must deny himself and take up his cross daily and follow me. For whoever wants to save his life will lose it, but whoever loses his life for me will save it. (Luke 9:23-24)
If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son, but gave him up for us all how will he not also, along with him, graciously give us all things? Romans 8:31 Romans 8:31- -32 32
Full surrender (the goal of this life) is when all we have is all about Jesus because that s all we want.
