  5. DFSRH and the e-portfolio Request from the FSRH team to trainers and trainees 20% of e-portfolios are not completed correctly/fully when application is made to the office. The most frequent issue being that the 3 pre-entry requirement forms have been left blank. These should be completed in the e- portfolio prior to attendance at the Course of 5. Course of 5 convenors and administrators are asked to advise delegates to apply for the e-portfolio at least 5 working day prior to attendance. The office receives a high volume of requests to allocate e-portfolios a day or two before a course is due to run. We are a small team and this is not always possible.

  6. Keele University and FSRH Postgraduate Course in Medical Education Some changes to structure of course and revision of the syllabus Clinical lead is Dr Liz Nyholm Next course is 2 days (11/12 May 2017, Birmingham) A few places still available https://www.surveymonkey.co.uk/r/KeeleFSRH-PCME Attracts 15 CAT points- this is a change compared to the PGA Med Ed (SRH)-The course would have needed to be extended by an additional day in order to continue as 30

  7. SRH Essentials for Practice Nurses 17 courses run across the UK 188 delegates to date since launch Consultation and feedback has led to changes in delivery model A webinar is in production to support facilitators Kate Shakeshaft is leading a newly formed SRH Essentials working group under the umbrella of GTC The possibility of roll-out to other disciplines is under consideration.

  8. Guidelines in 2017 Contraception after Pregnancy Emergency Contraception Questions in eKA and slide set for SRH Essentials have been updated to reflect the changes

  9. FSRH principles of care 1. To be willing and able to discuss and provide information on pregnancy options and all forms of contraception, including emergency contraception, based on evidence and best practice as defined in FSRH guidelines 2. To be prepared to take personal responsibility for ensuring the patient is provided with appropriate care and treatment, including a prescription if appropriate, without delay; 3. To treat the patient with kindness and to demonstrate non-judgemental and non- discriminatory attitudes and communication 4. To keep the patient fully informed of their options and never to compromise their care or outcomes; 5. To be open with colleagues and employers about any personal beliefs which could compromise care or outcomes in order that service provision and planning can accommodate this; 6. To remain up to date in SRH theory and practice as indicated in the relevant syllabus and to maintain and demonstrate competence for recertification purposes.

  10. Conscientious objection DFSRH training HCPs who plan to opt out of providing aspects of care because of their personal beliefs may still be awarded the Diploma, or recertified, if they can demonstrate commitment in their practice to the principles of care in section 5 of this document. For example, if a HCP chooses not to prescribe emergency contraception because of their personal beliefs, she/he has a personal responsibility to ensure that arrangements are made for a prescription to be issued by a colleague without delay, ensuring that the care and outcomes of the patient are never compromised or delayed.

  11. Conscientious objection Speciality training in community sRH To fulfil the requirements for the Specialty Training Programme, a doctor must be willing to participate in the provision of all forms of care excepting that which is defined as conscientious objection in the Abortion Act 1967, as amended by the Human Fertilisation & Embryology Act 1990.
