New Minister of the Environment and Natural Resource Mr. Gu mundur Ingi Kristinsson (Mummi) Sovereignty of Iceland The CEO of Landvernd, the largest nature conservation and environmental NGO in Iceland, started as the Minister of the Environment in the Left Green led coalition government in December 2017. Rather than pick one of their own MPs, the party picked the environmental activist Gu mundur Ingi Gu brandsson to head the ministry.

Changes at National Land Survey of Iceland From June 11th2018, Magn s Gu mundsson was appointed Managing Director of Vatnaj kull National Park. He is appointed for this task for 12 months, and ultimately he will return to the position as Director General of National Land Survey of Iceland. Eyd s L ndal Finnbogad ttir will be appointed as Director General of National Land Survey of Iceland from 1. September 2018 - 1. September 2019.
