Lesson 2: Nouns A noun is the name of a person, place, thing, event, or even an idea. Nouns are very broad. Therefore, it is easier to understand them when they are grouped. CONCRETE NOUNS ABSTRACT NOUNS These are nouns for things that you can see or touch. They can be classified based on their quantity: singular (one) or plural (more than one).
