  2. About Considerate Constructors Scheme (CCS) Established 25 years ago to encourage, support and challenge the construction industry to improve its standards. Over that time, CCS has engaged with committed organisations (CCS Partners) across the construction industry, and through on-site monitoring, practical guidance and learning resources helped to drive up the standards in considerate construction. Right now the industry is facing urgent interconnected challenges, from addressing on-site safety and building safety issues, net zero carbon, equality, diversity and inclusion, modern slavery as well as delivering greater environmental and social value. Schemes such as CCS in the UK and similar programmes in the Netherlands and Chile play a critical role in responding

CCS Code of Considerate Practice Respect the Community Care for the environment Value their Workforce Constructors must manage their impact on their neighbours and the public to support a positive experience, by: Constructors must minimise their impact and enhance the natural environment, by: Constructors must create a supportive, inclusive, and healthy workplace, by: 2.1 Prioritising environmental issues to protect the natural environment and minimise negative impacts. 3.1 Actively encouraging and supporting an inclusive and diverse workplace. 1.1 Ensuring courteous and respectful language and behaviour in and around the construction activity. 3.2 Proactively supporting safe working, mental and physical wellbeing at work. 2.2 Optimising the use of resources, including minimising carbon. 1.2 Providing a safe environment, preventing unnecessary disturbance, and reducing nuisance for the community from their activities. 3.3 Providing workplaces that are well maintained, clean and secure from physical and biological hazards. 2.3 Engaging with the community to improve the local environment in a meaningful way. 1.3 Proactively maintaining effective engagement with the community to deliver meaningful positive impacts.
