  4. 2-A The Fall of Humanity Old Testament New Testament Genesis Revelation through Jesus. God gave us Scripture by inspiring people to write down His Word over many years. The Bible is a library of books 39 in the Old Testament and 27 in the New Testament. The Old Testament prepared God s people for the coming of Jesus. The New Testament tells us about the life of Jesus and ho His work continues in believers. The Bible is a collection of Scripture from God. It is a story of God reaching out to humanity

  5. Genesis 3:1-6 Now the serpent was more crafty than any of the wild animals the LORD God had made. He said to the woman, Did God really say, You must not eat from any tree in the garden ? 2 The woman said to the serpent, We may eat fruit from the trees in the garden, 3 but God did say, You must not eat fruit from the tree that is in the middle of the garden, and you must not touch it, or you will die. 4 You will not certainly die, the serpent said to the woman. 5 For God knows that when you eat from it your eyes will be opened, and you will be like God, knowing good and evil. 6 When the woman saw that the fruit of the tree was good for food and pleasing to the eye, and also desirable for gaining wisdom, she took some and ate it. She also gave some to her husband, who was with her, and he ate it.

  6. Psalm 14:1-3 Psalm 14 For the director of music. Of David. 1 The fool[a] says in his heart, There is no God. They are corrupt, their deeds are vile; there is no one who does good. 2 The LORD looks down from heaven on all mankind to see if there are any who understand, any who seek God. 3 All have turned away, all have become corrupt; there is no one who does good, not even one.

  7. Genesis 3:15 And I will put enmity between you and the woman, and between your offspring[a] and hers; he will crush[b] your head, and you will strike his heel.

  8. Target Truth Without God, we are lost in our sin.

  9. 2-B Looking for the Messiah Messiah- A person chosen for a special role; the promised Savior, Jesus Sometimes in the Old Testament when someone needed to fulfill a special role or mission others would pour oil on that person s head. The word Messiah comes from the Hebrew word, mashiyach, meaning anointed one . A messiah is therefore someone chosen and marked for a special purpose. The term Christ is the Greek Translation of the same word.

  10. 2-B Looking for the Messiah So why do we call Jesus the Messiah? What was He chosen to do?

  11. Messiah When we say that Jesus is the Messiah, we mean that He is the One chosen to save us from our sins and bring us back to God. No one could possibly fulfill that mission except God, so God chose Himself.

  12. Prophecy A message of truth from God; often about events in the future.

  13. Prophecies Fulfilled Concerning Christs Life Old Testament New Testament Prophecy Fulfilled Micah 5:2 Matthew 2:1 Christ was born in Bethlehem Jeremiah 31:15 Matthew 2:16-18 Herod killed all the young boys in Bethlehem less than 2 years old. Hosea 11:1 Matthew 2:13-15 Joseph and Mary were forces to escape from Herod and take Jesus to Egypt. Isaiah 61:1 Luke 4:16-21 Christ preached the same message that the prophets said He would. Zechariah 9:9 Matthew 21:1-10 Christ rode into Jerusalem on a donkey.

  14. Prophecies Fulfilled Concerning Christ s Trial and Crucifixion Old Testament New Testament Prophecy fulfilled Zechariah 11:12-13 Matthew 26:15 Christ was betrayed for 30 silver coins. 16. 2C-God is Faithful People will sometimes God will always Lie Speak Truth Forget Remember His Word Fulfil His promises Make promises they can t keep Some people promise things they never intend to fulfill. Some people mean well but they don t get around to fulfilling their promises. Some people are not as strong or smart as they think-and therefore can t fulfill all their promises. Sometimes things are out of their control. God never does any of those things. He always tells the truth. He remembers all His promises; and He is powerful enough to do whatever He chooses to do. We can trust God because He is worthy of our trust.

  17. Character Trait: Faithfulness Faithfulness: We are faithful when we keep our word and earn the trust of others. God Shows Us Faithfulness (Kids' Bible Learning) Activity Sheet Links: https://faithville.com/curriculum/ Is there someone who is always there for us? There is, it's God! God is faithful, which means He's loyal and trustworthy, a protector and provider, and certainly a helper in times of trouble. Like in the story of Daniel in the Lion's Den! God shows us perfect faithfulness and helps us to be faithful in return. We can be more like Jesus when we're faithful to God and to others. Today's Bible Verse is from 2 Timothy 2:13 (NIRV): "Even if we are not faithful, He remains faithful. He must be true to Himself." Enjoy our shows?
