1- Guidelines for special educational needs English version: https://www.unisi.it/sites/default/files/allegati/Linee_Guida_UniSi_ENG.pdf They specify: - Types of special educational needs - How to get support from the offices and the Department delegates (certifications etc.) - Which specific didactic methodologies can be adopted, both in class (not individualized) and in the exams (individualized) - How to ask for such specific methodologies to be applied Crucial point: Do Do not not refrain refrain from asking for support. 4 Thesis projects Moodle module for general information: Language and Mind Thesis projects (password: L&M) Thesis writing guide (general for the Department): https://www.dispoc.unisi.it/sites/st10/files/allegatiparagrafo/18-07-2019/thesis-guide.pdf Thesis topics: Pick up ideas that you find interesting during the classes. The professors will propose some possible topics in their second year courses. You can also pick up ideas from the research seminars! The thesis presentations give you an idea of the types of projects that each professor supervises. You can propose your own ideas, just contact the professors during the office hours Be open to alternatives if a professor declines supervision (in your best interest!) Start the thesis project as soon as possible, even before you have passed all the exams. Calculate **at least** four months of full-time work.
4 Thesis projects Before the actual defense you have to give a presentation of your thesis project (20 minutes + discussion) Dates will be published in the section NOTICES and via the Newsletter. April session for graduants in July you can apply to the secretariat for fee reduction. Deadlines published in a memo for graduants on this (Italian!) page: https://www.dispoc.unisi.it/it/didattica/esami-di-laurea Anti-plagiarism check required before admission to graduation. Final grade: Average of exams + 1 extra point for Erasmus + up to 5 points for the defense. Cum laude mention is unanimously decided by the defense committee.
