Objective: How to live the life that is pleasing to the Holy Spirit. HEBREWS 12:13 13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed. 14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: 15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; 16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. INFLUENCE 211 There's no holiness with us. We can't be holy; holiness is of God. It ain't a holy church, it's a holy God. Not holy people; a holy God. It's God in the people the Presence of God, what made it holy. It's the Presence of God in our midst now that brings holiness, not my holiness, not yours, but His holiness. HEAR.YE.HIM 23 Lady, you might be as virtue and clean as you can be, but if you dress these little old Hollywood dresses, get on the street, man looks at you, you're guilty of adultery. "Whosoever looketh upon a woman to lust after her hath committed adultery with her already in his heart." You may never go through the act, but at the Day of Judgment, that sinner that looked at you, you presented yourself to him like that, you're going to be counted for adultery. That's God's Word. She was dressed like one, she was a beautiful woman, but all poured into a little old dress that was terrible looking, wasn't made for women to wear... And she kept telling me about, something another, about her having nervous spells. I said to her, "Well now, the first thing you ought to do, is to accept Christ. She said, "I am a Christian. She messed her hair up on the side, said, "Oh, yes. I said, "Do you realize, that the way that you're dressed, you'll send more men to hell than all the barrooms in the country? QUEEN.OF.SHEBA 9 And then if you say that you're saved and still live for the things of the world, your fruits prove that you're not saved. I've always said that I'm very strict; I believe holiness. But if you just make yourself dress like a holy person or act like a holy person, that doesn't make you a holy person. You'd just be making out that. But if the Spirit within you makes you live that way, then you know you're all right. CHURCH.AGE.BOOK 292-1 As the Jews took refuge in the synagogue form of worship, so in the Philadel- phian Age they were taking refuge in the church. It is not joining a church that counts. The life is not in the church. The life is in Christ. "This is the record that God hath given us eternal life and this life is in His Son. He that hath the Son hath life, and he that hath not the Son hath not life." Man is made holy by the Spirit. WISDOM.VERSUS.FAITH 202 Get some old pictures. Look at grandmother; her long skirts; braid of hair hanging down her back. She wasn't so attractive to look at. 203 Look at the modern one today. Little skinned-down dress, that, every form, she can't move without sinning. Walking, tipping down the street, with all the makeup and cosmetics a Max Factor can put on her, nearly. Fixing her hair like some little girl. Wear a little skirt just up, about, above her knees, if she's got on any, at all. But, you look at her, she is pretty. Satan knows how to do it.
