Lizzy eats beef every day especially the beef from CowBo
CowBo has 150 cattle bred for beef production
The methane from the cows releases greenhouse gases into the atmosphere
Agriculture accounts for 32.3% of Ireland s total greenhouse gas emissions
Ireland are the 8thworst polluting country in world per capita responsible for 8.8 tonnes of greenhouse gas emissions per person
The gases forms a blanket in the atmosphere which traps the sun s rays
The temperature in the atmosphere rises and causes glaciers to melt
Melting glaciers initially increase flood risk and then strongly reduce water supplies, eventually threatening one sixth of the world s population, predominantly in the Indian sub-continent, parts of China and the Andes in South America
Peru has 71% of the worlds tropical glaciers and the population depend on them for clean drinking water. 3.3 million people currently have no access to safe drinking water
Drinking contaminated water causes many diseases that have already caused the death of 5 million people over the last 5 years
Nancy, aged 14 lost her mother to salmonella and gave up school to look after her younger brother & sisters and working on the asparagus fields (the asparagus will be imported to Ireland)
