MISSION The LLLI mission is to help mothers worldwide
to breastfeed through mother-to-mother support, encouragement, information, and education,
and to promote a better understanding of breastfeeding as an important element in the healthy development of the baby and mother.
VISION and PURPOSE To realize, deepen, and share the love and wisdom found in the breastfeeding relationship.
Goal 1. For LLLI to reach mothers and families in their communities around the world Objectives of the Direct Connect Area Networks (DCANs) To increase the number of Leaders. To reach out to a more diverse group of mothers. To improve/uphold the image of LLLI.
Goal 2. For LLLI to be recognized as a worldwide resource for mother-to-mother breastfeeding support Objectives of the Direct Connect Area Networks To improve marketing and the use of social networks. To make local and national connections with healthcare providers and allied networks. To coordinate publication of culturally appropriate LLLI materials.
Goal 3. To nurture and grow LLLI as a sustainable international organization Objectives of the Direct Connect Area Networks To ensure Leaders feel connected to each other within their Areas, Area Networks, and LLLI. To ensure all entities are solvent and financially stable. To encourage Leaders to join administration teams. To ensure effective and accessible accreditation procedures.
