  2. Scripture Sacraments Christian Beliefs A Christian receives the power of the Holy Spirit in a special way during confirmation. The Church is called to continue the work of Jesus Confirmation - the anointing with the oil of chrism where the Bishop says be sealed with the Holy Spirit . The candidate is set apart and called to continue the mission of Jesus. Each diocese is led by a bishop who continues the work of the 12 apostles who continued the work of Jesus. Jesus is the head of these families.
