What is Planning? A technical and political process concerned with the welfare of people, control the use of land, design of the [built] environment including transportation and communication networks, and protection and enhancement of the natural environment. - McGill University, School of Planning
Note to Presenter: State if you are an RPP / MCIP and what that means Who are Planners? A planner is a trained professional who works to improve the quality of communities and the environment.
What Do Planners Do? > We create plans to guide how communities grow and change in the future. > We help design new communities and integrate new development within existing communities. > We help protect the natural environment and heritage resources, and can help mitigate & adapt to climate change. > We communicate with and engage the public.
