What is it? How can it be useful in your educational research project? SmartZoos is a location-based serious game that help participants create and play gaming scenarious. It was originally designed to integrate the zoos of the Central Baltic region to form a joint tourist attraction. The service package includes a GoogleMaps based game constructor, assignment creation tool, QR code tagging, a set of games, etc However it can also be used in other outside environments to create similar gaming scenarious. Link: toolset.smartzoos.eu (for zoo contexts); rada.toolset.eu (for other contexts) Pros: Open access, interactive Cons: May require training
What data do you get? Data you get: Location-based data of the player (location coordinates are saved in every minute) during the game, performance data (dashboard with right/wrong answers, game status). Ethics and privacy: The user activity will be tracked only if the player enables it. User data are anonymous and collected by the administrators of the application. Data is stored in Tallinn University servers.
