BODY OF CHRIST Introduction Introduction Gal 5: 13 Gal 5: 13- -15; Rom 12:3 15; Rom 12:3- -10 10 A Flock watched over by the Shepherd A kingdom where Jesus is the king and having dominion The Bible is clear on the duty of each believer in the church, emphasizing the necessity and responsibility of serving the body of Christ. A Bride Family of God, where God is the Father. The Church is likened to a bride, a flock that the shepherd is watching over, a kingdom where Jesus is the king and having dominion. It is also called the family of God, where God is the Father. It s described as a building whose foundation is Jesus Christ Above all it is the Body of Christ. Christian youths are to serve Christ and the brethren.

THE UNITY OF BELIEVERS THE UNITY OF BELIEVERS IN CHRIST IN CHRIST Text: Romans 12: 4,5; 1 Corinthians 12: 12-14; 10:17; Galatians 3:26-29; John 17:20,21; Ephesians 2:10-22; 4:4-6 God s word emphatically dwells on the unity of the church, emphasizing that the body is one 1 Cor 12:12 To become a member of the body of Christ, a youth must repent of his sins and believe on the saviour. At Salvation, the holy spirit baptizes a believer into the body of Christ. 1 Cor 12: 13 Christian youths should endeavor to shun all forms of tribal, national, social, professional or academic discrimination. Eph 4:3-6 Competition, hatred or resentment in the church contradicts our prayers. Humility is required to keep the unity in the church

Upholding Love and Unity in Upholding Love and Unity in the Church the Church Text: John 13: 34,35; 15:9-12; Romans 12:9,10; John 17:9- 11, 19-21; Galatians 5: 13-15; Acts 2:44-47; 1 Cor 6:5-8; 12: 23-26 It s easy to profess love, unity and brotherhood in church when there are no problems. 1 Cor 6: 5-8 As we relate as a family we may tend to accidentally step on each others toes, our interests may clash, unfounded stories or rumours may be peddled. However, where unity exists, these are settled amicably by the leaders. God enjoins us to keep the unity of the Spirit and love one another as He has loved us. John 13:34 Christian youths should seek how they can best serve the body of Christ, just as every member of the body has a function to carry. God commands us to Love The Soul of man is precious Why Love? Spiritually perfect heart of the brethren Possession of grace to live right and victoriously We must Love under all Circumstances

Prayerfully comforting the distressed Text: 1 Cor 12: 27-31; Rom 12:4-8; Acts 6:1-6; 8:6-8,26-40; Galatians 5:13; Acts 9:36-39 There are various areas of service in church ranging from high profile to the daily regular caring, giving and showing mercy. As Christian youths, we have a duty to fulfil such as being involved in the youth fellowship, giving to comfort the distressed, cleaning the church, visiting the sick, weak and lonely etc God places high premium on every ministry in the church We are not to compete with one another, rather do what God has for us with all our might and cheerfully like Philip.
