Academic Bankruptcy Students must apply for academic bankruptcy by the last day to withdraw from classes with a W during the first semester, session, or term for which they are enrolled subsequent to the three-year period resulting in eligibility for the academic bankruptcy option. 3
Register for desired hours now, change sections/courses later If a course or a section is currently closed, encourage students to sign up for another course/section (even if they plan to change it later) If their fee statement is accurate, they can just switch courses/sections later and they do not have to worry about future purges. Please DO NOT encourage them to just wait to finish their schedule. 4
Advise Students to Turn in Transcripts From Registrar s Office: It has come to the attention of the Office of Admissions that some students are being advised by advisors that they do not need to turn in official transcripts. The most popular reason given is that the credits are too old. Please be aware that, regardless of whether or not LSUE will award credit for what is in a transcript, we do require official transcripts be submitted. Students need transcripts on file in order to receive federal financial aid and for myriad other reasons. The default response should be yes, students need to submit official transcripts. If there is any question, please contact the Office of Admissions. 5
ADA Compliance Any student granted an ADA accommodation must receive it, unless specifically determined by the Office of Disabilities Services to not be appropriate for that class. In short, advisors/instructors CANNOT make the decision to ignore an accommodation without ODS permission. 6
LSU Pathways 30 hours of non-remedial GPA of 2.5 or higher C or better in GE college-level mathematics and GE college-level English 7

Prerequisites: Not Just For Giggles Students suffer when placed in the wrong course When they are not prepared, they usually fail. Seats are lost to underprepared students Qualified students have no seats to take the classes that they need Faculty and University are put at risk of poor performance Our faculty are placed in a position where they must catch these errors The university may have to refund money and clean up transcripts when errors aren t caught 14
Overrides If you request an override from someone with override capabilities, be sure to include the pertinent information that suggest an override is appropriate in the advising notes. ONLY the division that offers the course can override based on consent . If the student doesn t have the alternate scores, transfer credit, ect do not override them into classes without that consent. 15
