  8. 2018 School Report Card In 2018 Hardin Elementary earned a 74.28 School Index. This falls within the rating scale of 72.17 to 79.25 that indicates a Public School Rating or School Letter Grade of a B. Any rating of 79.26 is a Public School Rating of an A Letter Grade. The Public School Rating is comprised of 4 Indicators- 1. Overall ESSA Score-74.28 2.Weighted Achievement Score-72.64 3.Value-Added Growth Score-79.67 4.School Quality & Student Success Score-60.13

  9. School Quality & Student Growth Of the 4 Indicators that make up the Public School Rating Hardin Elementary had exceptional scores in 3 of the 4 ratings. School Quality & Student Growth (SQSG) score was 62.43 in 2017 and 60.13 in 2018 and this score comprises 15% of the overall score. The main factor for this indicator is student attendance.

  10. Student Attendance Student absences are categorized into 3 attendance categories: 1. Low Risk-Absent less than 5% of time enrolled. 2. Moderate Risk-Absent 5%-10% of days enrolled. 3.High Risk-Absent 10% or more of days enrolled. Make Attendance a Priority in your home, please!!! Attendance policies will be strictly enforced this school year. This includes Tardies and Early Checkout. If student absences and tardies are excessive, parent conferences and referrals to the Juvenile Justice System will be used to correct the Parent behavior.

  16. Individual Student Reports-ISR Please visit with Mrs. Allen she will hand out the ISR report for the 4th& 5thGrade students that took the ACT Aspire for 2019.

  17. Testing Incentive Day Off!!! New for the 2019 -2020 school Year!!! If a student meets grade level benchmarks (Ready or Exceeding) for the 2019 ACT Aspire in 3 of the 4 tested subjects or Meets growth expectations in 3 of the 4 tested subjects the student will get and excused day from school. Students will be given a certificate that they must return to school as their note for the day to be excused. This will be offered next school year so do the best you can on the Aspire this year!!!!! You can pick up the certificate when you receive your Aspire ISR report.

  18. Correcting Deficiencies Students not scoring at or below the 25th percentile on the Star Early Literacy or Star Reading or not designated ready or exceeding on the Aspire test will have a remediation program designed for them. Diagnostic tests such as Dibels and Star Assessments will be used to identify students to be progress monitored. In 4th-5thgrade this is called an AIP and in Kindergarten 2ndgrade this is called and IRI. The student s plan will include point in time tutoring, individual or small group instruction, computer lab, & programs for re-teaching and reinforcement standards.

  21. Safety Doors open at 7:40. Visitors, please enter through the front door. All visitors must check in at the office before proceeding to a classroom. All visitors must present Picture I.D. Parents will be asked to provide photo I.D. when checking a student out of school. Afternoon car riders must have a mirror hang tag in order to pick up a student(s) or you are required to see office personnel Traffic moves pretty quickly. But please remember some days are smoother than others. All students should be picked up by 3:20. It is against the law to talk on a cell phone in a school zone when school is in session.

  22. Hall Pass-Visitor Monitoring System For 2019-2020 visitors will be required to show I.D. at the front office. Mrs. Eagle will print a visitor badge with your picture, time of entry, and purpose on campus. All persons on campus for lunch, teacher conferences, or business purposes will be required to report first to the office.

  23. School Security Cafeteria Doors-Secured May 2018 Side Entrance Door- Secured March 2019 (PTO) NightLock Lock Down System- Redfield American Legion Post & Community of Redfield. Approx. $1,500 raised for the system. Works similar to a Dead Bolt. Watch Video Link https://nightlock.com/

  24. My School Bucks/Nutri-Slice The program for parents to monitor student cafeteria accounts. Allows parents to pay for student meals online. Parents may sign up at www.myschoolbucks.com The account sign up is free. Nutrislice: App for Apple or Android gives parents access to the cafeteria menu on your phone. Mrs. Chris Bowles is the contact person for the program.

  25. Parent Communication Hardin Elementary teachers, staff and administration strive to keep parents informed. This is done through teacher and district web pages, notes/student planners, parent teacher conferences, quarterly newsletters and phone calls. Please know that it is our goal for your child to be successful and through open communication this is more likely to occur.

  28. Smart Core/Core Curriculum Smart Core is a college & Career Readiness curriculum and is the default curriculum for AR students. Core Curriculum is the minimum course requirements for graduation in AR public Schools. Completion of the Smart Core Curriculum is a requirement for eligibility for the Academic Challenge Scholarship. Students & Parents will be advised of the Smart Core/Core pathways at the end of the 6thGrade school year. Questions refer to the ADE website at www.arkansased.org
