  3. Need Title Here Guided Pathways Coordinators Why 2? Guided Pathways is a holistic approach to serving students Who? Sergio Lemus, Counselor/Coordinator, ESL/Basic Skills Richardson Fleuridor, Biology Instructor We all need to be active participants to assist in creating our culture (student, faculty and staff experience) Identify a day and time to inform, engage and contribute to GP

Need Title HereAccreditation update Candidacy Candidacy is a formal affiliation status granted to institutions that demonstrate the ability as it continues to develop to fully meet all the Accreditation Standards and Commission policies within the two-year Candidate period. At this point we have a formal affiliation with ACCJC. During Candidacy, the institution undertakes the necessary steps to reach demonstrable and complete compliance with Accreditation Standards. VS Initial Accreditation When the Candidate institution applies for Initial Accreditation, it must submit a Follow-Up Report that demonstrates resolution of all recommendations for compliance with Accreditation Standards and Commission policies identified in the Commission s Action Letter awarding Candidacy. It will also submit a Quality Focus Essay (QFE) and related evidence to the Commission for review at the next scheduled meeting. Have two bodies working with: State Chancellor s office and ACCJC That impacts how we move forward.

Need Title Here Accreditation update-Implementation Team Implementation team: This team would provide general leadership in laying out steps, strategies, and goals to provide targeted directives and communication updates to the College, District, and other bodies. It will ASSESS, PLAN, MONITOR, and INFORM Team members: Kenia Gonzalez, Maria Battisti, Ray Sanchez, Deisy Ruiz, Antoniette Aizon, Becky Xiong, Gregory Ramirez, Marie Harris, Richardson Fleuridor and President. Meeting dates: July 10th, July 17th and July 25th. The next scheduled meeting is August 16th from 2:00pm-3:30pm ISER Addendum: Why have an addendum? Madera centric and provide update on activities post ISER completion (May). Must submit by September 4th.

San Antonio College Ms. Gohar Momjian, Vice President, ACCJC

Need Title Here Accreditation update-Transition Plan Positions filled: Vice President of Administrative Services Vice President of Learning and Student Success (shifted from VP of Madera/Oakhurst Campuses) Curriculum Analyst New positions to be filled/start: Senior Research and Planning Analyst Custodian President Executive Assistant Accountant (new position that will join us October 1) Transition Plan: Shared positions: primarily in Student Services and one faculty Need to develop plan to separate and how long we will share positions How we split the funding on grants and other fund sources Curriculum Governance structures Decision making authority: Are made locally for the most part, we do not need to seek Reedley permission, I am the CEO of Madera/Oakhurst (Student Services and Categorical funds)

Need Title Here Accreditation update-MVV June 3-5 had faculty and staff meeting all day (June 4 focus on Mission/Vision) Committee was tasked to finalize: 2 faculty, 2 staff, 3 students and 1 administrator Committee met: June 5th (1st Mission and Vision draft) External stakeholder meeting: June 27th Committee met once again on July 9th review comments from external stakeholders Final draft of Mission and Vision was developed Committee was reconvened to work on Values, they met on July 25 and July 29 Final draft of Values was developed Route for constituency review and board approval

  13. MCC 2019-20 Goals Need Title Here GOAL 1: ACCREDITATION OF MADERA COMMUNITY COLLEGE Prepare for site visit in FA 19 and follow-up leading to candidacy in SP 2020. Develop and implement a student-centered Guided Pathways with an equity focus. Develop and implement MCC s Educational Master Plan and Strategic Plan. Develop and implement a transition plan to become an independent college with timeline. For example: Year 1 70-80% completion Year 2 80-90% completion Year 3 90-100% completion Develop and implement an integrated resource management plan for a) fiscal, b) facilities, c) personnel and d) partnerships

MCC 2019-20 Goals, contd Need Title Here GOAL 2: TO CENTER EQUITY IN THE WORK THAT WE DO AT MCC Professional development: Offer diversity, equity and inclusion professional development training to all employees. Student Success: Academic excellence and success for all students, especially under-represented and historically marginalized groups. Inclusive Campus Environment: Create an inclusive campus environment that meets the needs of ALL students, staff and faculty at MCC.

  15. Why Equity? Need Title Here Why Diversity, Equity and Inclusion? *Equity assumes difference and takes that into account to ensure a fair process and, ultimately a fair and equitable outcome. Equity recognizes that some groups are historically disadvantaged in accessing education (and economic) opportunities and subsequently underrepresented or marginalized in many organizations and institutions. That history carries forward; creating effects of exclusion that often linger systemically within organizational policies, practices, and procedures (*WWCC Equity and Inclusion Plan). Working definitions Need Title Here Diversity: which is expressed in myriad forms, including race and ethnicity, gender and gender identity, sexual orientation, socioeconomic status, language, culture, national origin, religious commitments, age, (dis)ability status, political perspective and diversity of thought. Equity: is about fairness; an awareness of and a willingness to remove systemic and institutional barriers, and provide inclusive resources. Inclusion: pursuing deliberate efforts to ensure that our campus is a place where differences are welcomed, different perspectives are respectfully heard, and where every individual feels a sense of belonging and inclusion.
