HOW MIGHT YOUR DIGITAL FOOTPRINT AFFECT YOUR FUTURE OPPORTUNITIES?
If you post something online you might be able to delete it off the webpage for a bit, but a lot of people have already seen it. This post will never be 100% removed from the Internet. Think first before you post.
If there is something bad, rude or inappropriate on the internet about yourself, one day the person looking to hire you will search you up and look for any of those things. If there is something bad they will take that into note and probably won't hire you.
WHAT ARE THREE STRATEGIES YOU CAN USE TO KEEP YOUR DIGITAL FOOTPRINT APPROPRIATE AND SAFE
1. Think about what you post. If you post something similar to the following, "I like 'trolling'." the employer will likely not hire you because the job seeker might not be serious for this job anyways.
2. Review your digital footprint every once in a while. Once in a while you should search yourself up online and see what pops up. If something bad pops up, you should try and stop it or prevent it.
3. Avoid posting pictures of yourself and make sure others only post appropriate things of you. Some people take inappropriate selfies of themselves and that will affect their chances of getting a job. Also when others take inappropriate photos of you, it looks like you are involves.
WHAT INFORMATION DID YOU LEARN THAT YOU WOULD PASS ON TO OTHER STUDENTS? HOW WOULD YOU GO ABOUT TELLING THEM
I would spread to other students that your digital footprint is important and you need to keep it appropriate. If there is something bad about yourself online that could ruin your future and any plans for a specific job.
