  3. FY20 Update DESE continuing to provide funding, including all state aid and reimbursement accounts, based authorized spending levels in current year budget, as well as our federal grants. DESE and federal guidance on districts maintaining service capacity during this current period. 3 Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education

  4. FY20 Update State Leaders working to identify the spending and revenue impact of the current pandemic. FY20 spending reductions not anticipated at this time. 4 Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education

  5. FY20 Update Federal CARES Act funding will supply additional funding to support schools. Funding will be available to use through 9/30/22. oK-12 Education Stabilization Fund - $214.9M oGovernor s Emergency Education Relief Fund (Higher Ed/K- 12/Early Ed)- $50.8M Funding included to expanded school meals program. 5 Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education

  6. FY21 Update State budget delayed timeline due to need for revised consensus tax revenue estimate, as well as non-tax revenues. Next budget release (either HWM bill or a joint HWM/SWM resolution) likely to be a better indicator than H.2. H2 recommend appropriation levels unclear at this time. 6 Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education

  7. FY21 Update Municipal & Regional Districts seeking guidance on expected state aid level and require local contributions. Local budgets municipal school districts oIf not in place by July 1, DOR can set 1/12 budgets oLegislature has not created process for waiving MLC and NSS requirements 7 Massachusetts Department of Elementary and Secondary Education
