INSIGHTS FROM THE STUDENTS EXPERIENCE MONDINO TRACK N=74; VALUES % A.A. 2025-26 MASTER DEGREE PSYCHOLOGY, NEUROSCIENCE AND HUMAN SCIENCES
INSIGHTS FROM THE STUDENTS EXPERIENCE MONDINO TRACK What were your most important takeaways or lessons from the Virtual Client Simulation-Based Internship Program? (Open response) I believe i manage to develop my therapeutic speaking skills. Yet I've discovered alternative ways to empathize with the client. Plus I think the organization itself, the virtual client simulation is well planned and was the best option we had considering it tried to cover most of the disorders in variety. As a clinical psychologist with no experience yet, it was a great opportunity to see patients and determine their disease criteria without harming them. I was able to practice well emphatic communication and reflection. I mastered better the diagnostic criteria for the disorders I learned about emerging therapeutic techniques such dialectic behavioral techniques, cognitive constructivism e.t.c I learnt very well the importance of alliance and bonding with client before embarking on any treatmentI learnt the importance of combining techniques Also, all our Professors ensured they stressed the importance of mindfulness techniques and grounding techniques in emotional regulation which is another new thing I learned I really enjoyed the internship. I already had experience from my undergraduate studies in clinical psychology, but I was able to develop new techniques and learn about diagnostics and differential criteria. Additionally, I found the AI to be very realistic, and I was able to truly engage with the patient. Most importantly, learning how to be professional in the setting, plus the knowledge of diagnostic criteria. Further, the foundational elements of clinical setting interaction. The supervision session provided a lot of meaningful and interesting input from the supervisors on real life patients and practical knowledge on the disorders, therapy and treatments. It was nice to hear about real life issues and typical experiences with patients of different disorders. The most important lesson is that I had opportunity to train my communicative skills during sessions with clients and diagnostic skills The most important takeaways from the Virtual Client Simulation-Based Internship Program were the opportunity to practice empathy, nonjudgmental communication, and active listening while navigating complex and diverse client situations. It also provided a deeper understanding of how to address sensitive psychological and behavioral issues in a professional manner. Additionally, the program reinforced the importance of creating a safe space for clients to express their thoughts and feelings, while also offering strategies to guide them towards self-awareness, growth, and constructive coping mechanisms. I learned some applying strategies that can be helpful for the patients. That s help me to understand better how can I offer help and also boost my confidence as psychologist. The thing I practice the most, and that was somewhat unexpectedly challinging and useful was trying to become more professional , that is something I think I wouldn t have been able to practice as much elsewhere. Learned a lot about myself and my approach to therapy, thanks to the instructors and the analysis of my responses and feeling to patients.
