  2. Warm Up Review! Write these numbers in standard form. 400,000 + 60,000 + 700 + 20 + 5 Six hundred fifty thousand two hundred one Thirty five thousand twenty two 90,000 + 50,000 + 7,000 + 600 + 30 + 1

  3. Think and Write There are many things in the world around us that are arranged in rows. One example is a picture album. What other examples can you think of?

  4. Vocabulary Array: A strategy used to solve a multiplication problem by drawing equal rows with an equal number of objects in each row. Example: For the problem 2 x 3, you would make 2 rows with 3 objects in each row.

  5. Problem 1 Karisa arranges her pea plants in her garden into 3 rows. There are 7 plants in each row. How many pea plants does she have in all? Write a multiplication number sentence for this problem. Then draw an array to help you solve.

  6. Problem 2 Mr. McGregor is planting his garden. He makes 4 rows and plants 4 plants in each row. How many plants does Mr. McGregor plant altogether? Write a multiplication number sentence for this problem. Then draw an array to help you solve.

  7. Problem 3 Ms. Sanders is arranging some bunches of grapes for her classroom lunch party. She puts the grapes into 4 rows with 4 bunches of grapes in each row. How many bunches of grapes does she have in all? Write a multiplication number sentence for this problem. Then draw an array to help you solve.

  8. Problem 4 Greg is planting carrots. He puts the carrot plants into 5 rows with 3 plants in each row. How many carrot plants does Greg have? Write a multiplication number sentence for this problem. Then draw an array to help you solve.

  9. Create! Create a number story that can be solved by drawing this array.
