Current Fundraising Initiatives - Programme led funding - Donor Contract Management System - Developing tools cum harmonisation of tools - Current funding opportunities
Programme led-funding: What is it? - Programme led funding is the core of the planning process, as it links together the work you plan to do with the resources you have available - To complete it you need to be able to describe your programme , assess the funds you need, the staff you need and the skills these must have-and then make an assessment of what is missing and how you will plug those gaps.
Funding Planning: Why is it need? -It ensures we are programme led, not donor led -It recognises the entire funding mix( Child sponsorship, national fund, high value, official etc) -It outlines our funding needs or gaps from countries and programme and provides you with a strategy to fill them -It is integral to planning, strategy development and ability to fund your CSP
Donor Contract Management System - A database that host financial management, drafting and submission of proposals, reports, procurement and assets management, visibility, donor communications and other routine aspects of contract management - The system will enhance documentation and institutional memory, reduce high risk contracts, prudent spending, add value to AA s work
Developing tools cum harmonisation of tools - IPD and the High Value team are working together in ensuring that tools used within the federation are harmonised and more friendly to use. - Very soon these tools will be sent via email to everyone in AA and also will be hosted on the Hive
Key Roles of IPD - Provision of information on Institutional Fundraising - Provide capacity building for fundraising and proposal development - Donor intelligence on call for proposals, summary of proposal guidelines; pit falls to avoid, understanding donor requirement/language - Proposal & Report review, ensuring report format compliance and submission - Assist in coordination of multi-country proposals
Expectations from CPs by IPD - Articulate specific governance issues of the CP - Conceptual clarity - Donor Scoping - Matching priorities/objectives against those of the various donors - Developing clear lines of engagement with in-country donors focused on governance - Maximise funding opportunities - Always contact IPD if you are faced with challenges dealing with a donor, or managing a contract
