YHVH is but one of many names used for God in the Old Testament; its exact meaning, like its exact pronunciation, has been lost.
NORMALLY, THE CHURCH PRONOUNCES THIS HOLY NAME AS: YAHVEH, YAHWEH
YHVH is one of the names for God Actually, there were no vowels in the original Hebrew, what was written was YHVH or YHWH. Hebrew vowels were added centuries later.
The divine name Yahweh is usually translated Lord in English versions of the Bible, because it became a practice in late Old Testament Judaism not to pronounce the sacred name YHWH, but to say instead my Lord (Adonai) a practice still used today in the synagogue. https://www.ucg.org/bible-study-tools/bible-questions-and-answers/qa-jehovah- or-yahweh-instead-of-god
When the vowels of Adonai were attached to the consonants YHWH in the medieval period, the word Jehovah resulted. A VARIANT READING OF YAHVEH IS . . . . . . Strong s H3069 yeh-ho-vee' And this Great name, VERY similar to YAHVEH occurs 302 times in the OT It is also often (always?) translated as GOD as in:
Gen_15:8 And he said,H559LordH136GOD,H3069wherebyH4100shall I knowH3045thatH3588I shall inheritH3423it? H3069 = yeh-ho-vee'
ANOTHER VARIANT READING OF YAHVEH IS: ANOTHER VARIANT READING OF YAHVEH IS: YAH, or JAH, Strong s H3050 This form is an alternate of YAHVEH, occurs 49 times in OT, meaning is the same as YAHVEH, Eternal self-inherent existence.
And Yah is combined with another Hebrew word to form perhaps the most IMPORTANT word for humanity: HALLELUJAH Hallel means to praise . . .
Thus, Hallelujah means: Praise Yah (Yahveh)! Sadly, this word has been used in bad jokes, has been repeated in vain, yet the purpose of humanity is to spend eternity in the Praise of God!
Notice: Psa. 111: 1 Psa. 112: 1 Psa. 113: 1 Marginal note has: Hallelujah! One of the most important of all words!
Psa. 145: 1 Psa. 145: 1- -2 2 I will extol You, my God, O King; And I will bless Your name forever and ever. 2Every day I will bless You, And I will praise Your name forever and ever.

Lord is from the Hebrew adon (or adonay) and means: sovereign, that is, controller (human or divine): - lord, master, owner.
