  1. Mathematical measuring lengths of leaves Measuring leaves and finding the mean values for a tree

  2. Collecting and measuring leaves Take six leaves from the same tree. Use a ruler to measure the length and width of each leaf in mm. Write your results in the table you have been given. Length Width

  3. Leaf length and width Leaf 1 Leaf 2 Leaf 3 Leaf 4 Leaf 5 Leaf 6 Length in mm Width in mm Mean average length: Mean average width:

  4. Mean average To find the mean leaf length you must add all the lengths together and divide by the number of leaves that you measured (six). To find the mean leaf width you must add all the widths together and divide by the number of leaves that you measured (six).

  5. Parts of the leaf Label the parts of the leaf by filling in the missing letters: T_ _ B _ a _ e V_ _n Mi _ r _ b P _ _ io _e _ a s _

  6. Parts of the leaf - answers Label the parts of the leaf by filling in the missing letters: Tip Blade Vein Midrib Petiole Base
