  2. Media Media refers to all means of communication . TV, radio, and newspapers are forms of media. Since they reach millions of people across the world they are called mass media

  3. Media is the plural form of the word "media", which describes the various ways in which we communicate in society. Life without media is difficult. Cable television and the Internet are recent phenomena.

  4. Both print and electronic media have played an important role in social change. Changing technologies or machines help media reach more people. TV allows us to see ourselves as members of the people of the world. The media have a responsibility to provide fair and balanced coverage.

  5. The media is far from independent. This is because the government's control. The government s control of the media is called censorship, and large companies also control the media.

  6. The objectives of the media Separation of news from opinion. Separation of news and business interests of the newspaper. Note to give one-side account of events. Give only reports that are based on facts. Avoid distortion (Twisting or altering)of news. The media should never go with sensationalism.

  7. Social responsibility of the media To provide an accurate and detailed account of events the media should also provide a forum(platform) for people to share their views and ideas. It should uphold the values of the society.

  8. Dealing with the power of information, some media firms may become centers of economic and political power. There is a need to regulate the media so that it gives priority to public interests.

  9. The role of media in an democratic society there would be corruption. People may not have the right to express their public opinion.The media will be puppet in hands of the government. Media would not show the true picture of the happenings. The government also use the media for their favour. The media would create sensationalism and unrest among everyone else.

  10. Basic ethical principles The media should aim to seek truth and report it minimise harm, act independently and be accountable. Good faith With The Reader is the foundation of good journalism journalist should be able to operate with autonomy, accountability,and impartiality. Autonomy which means the freedom to act according to one's conscience and professional judgement Accountability which means 1 fulfills her are his responsibilities Impartiality which refers to not favouring on one side or the other
