  2. Funding round opens on 1st October 2020 Closes on 26thOctober 2020 - 5pm Key Dates Applicants must complete their projects within 6 months.

  3. The COVID-19 pandemic has been challenging for everyone. Things are changing fast, and for many living and adapting to a new way of life can lead to social isolation and loneliness. The fear and anxiety centred on the virus and what could happen in the coming months can be overwhelming and stressful. Funding purpose Young Brent Foundation and Brent Council will be providing grants for members of YBF. These are small grants of up to 5,000 for organisations with a turnover less than 100,000 and up to 10,000 for organisations with a turnover over 100,000, to support the children, young people and their families in Brent to cope with the impact of Covid-19. We would like to support our membership by offering you the opportunity to apply for funding that aims to build more connected, more resilient communities giving children and young people the tools and resources to cope during these uncertain times.

  4. CYP and their Families feel confident in accessing public services including health and social care where needed. Priorities for both 5,000 and 10,000 grants Parents and children will have plans and strategies in place to cope with a potential lock-down or restrictions in movement in the event of a second wave of Covid-19. This will help them combat loneliness and isolation during a potential lock down or restrictions in movement. Parents and children will have an established understanding of how to cope with Covid-19 related stress and uncertainty. Bereavement Social Isolation Building resilience Adapting to the new school environment (COVID-19 guidance) Promote Health and Wellbeing

Increase access to services and provision Provide additional services to support CYP to cope with Mental Health To better understand the issues/challenges are CYP facing during the pandemic Ensure a multi-agency approach To increase confidence in the identification and management of Mental Health. Outcomes for both 5,000 and 10,000 grants

  6. You must be a registered charity, including CIOs (Charitable incorporated organisations) Be Work You must work to benefit children and young people in Brent aged up to 25. Organisation s Minimum Requirements Have You must have a bank account in the name of your organisation. Realistic and achievable outcomes as well as a clear plan to monitor and evaluate the impact of the project. YBF will commission an external researcher which organisations should be prepared to engage with. Evaluate Collaborative Co- production and design with children and Young people.

Organisations over 100,000 turnover requirements

  8. Embrace change. The combination of uncertainty of a second wave of the Coronavirus and restriction of numbers of people able to meet for the foreseeable future means that change is inevitable. A flexible, innovative approach to working with children and young people experiencing anxiety or isolations is essential. Ensure all voices are heard. Given the breadth and diversity of the children and young people s voluntary sector organisations, an ever more collaborative culture must be nurtured. Culturally sensitive approaches. COVID-19 is having a significant impact on individuals from the African and Asian diaspora communities in Brent. YBF acknowledges that there are valid concerns that the unequal impact may be explained by social and economic inequalities, racism, discrimination and stigma. Key Principles

What we will fund The fund will pay for the running costs of programmes that are delivered between Nov 2020 April 2021 and provide young people and their families with activities in accordance with Government guidelines. We are currently in AMBER readiness level National Youth Agency Guidelines. Funding will be provided for activities that are additional to current delivery such as; Sessional staffing costs Transport for children with special needs and/or disabilities only Additional sessions/activities Digital delivery Other direct project costs such as equipment (not IT equipment)

  10. What we will fund cont. What we will fund cont. Please familiarise yourself with the National Youth Agency (NYA) Readiness Levels and the kinds of activities you can deliver. As the Readiness Level changes over the autumn, you may want to consider how you could adapt your delivery to expand your offer within the guidelines. If you intend to adapt your delivery, you need to include a plan of activities to accompany your application that covers each Readiness Level.

  11. Grant selection criteria To be successful, the applicant must meet all 7 essential criteria Be one-off projects that do not require additional revenue funding in their delivery or operation (or identify how additional revenue funding may be met) Benefit diverse Brent communities Offer value for money Provide training, education or advice to an individual to help better their lives Provide an exit plan The project must be completed within 6 months Be prepared to engage with an external researcher who will conduct an evaluation of the delivery of services provided by organisations

  12. Deliverables Deliverables (What would we need you to provide at the end of project) Outcomes A full evaluation report must be submitted which includes learning and possible suggestions for improvements to trigger the final payment. Report Outputs Numbers of young people engaged with Registration forms Number of sessions delivered Number of young people signposted to services: Monitoring forms Number of young people given local information: Number of young people engaged in diversionary activities Session evaluation forms Number of young people taking up services
