Menz Sheep Breeding Program Overview
In Menz area, the sheep breeding program focuses on establishing nucleus flocks, scaling up community-based breeding, selecting and distributing rams, setting up additional breeding centers, and enhancing infrastructure and capacity building. Breeding structure Continue the three existing community based and 1 on-station selective breeding program Scale-up CBSB villages to surrounding farmers Look for the possibility of linking among flocks Ram exchange: Ram should be compared across location, select best rams and distribute The 3 CBSB community based and station flock serve as nucleus (breeding ram source) for production unit (Menz area delineated for pure breeding
