OVERVIEW OF THE ACMPE BOARD CERTIFICATION REQUIREMENTS 50 hours of continuing education Exams Board Approval You can start earning CE up to 30 days prior to your nominee acceptance date of either pathway through a variety of qualifying activities Pass the multiple-choice exam, assess your on the job knowledge of the broad scope of group practice management principles and practices as described in the six domains of the Body of Knowledge for Medical Practice Management The Certification Commission and the MGMA Board vote monthly to confer and award the CMPE designation to individuals who have completed these requirements CE credit can also be earned during your exam preparation and after passing your exams Pass a scenario-based exam, assess your in-depth knowledge of medical practice management principles, problem-solving and decision-making skills that a candidate would need to handle and resolve real-world medical practice issues through 18-25 scenarios
It serves as a repository of industry knowledge, a guide to practice management, an assessment of competency, and a learning tool BODY OF KNOWLEDGE The BOK also serves as the exam blueprint for MGMA members who are pursuing board certification and fellowship

Purchase your Fellowship program application Submit your application for review Either hold a Bachelors with 7 years of healthcare experience, 2 years leadership role Or hold a Masters degree with 5 years of healthcare experience, 2 years leadership role FELLOWSHIP ONCE ACCEPTED INTO THE PROGRAM Identify and submit a business plan proposal After approval of your proposal, prepare a business plan Volunteer for a total of six hours MAINTAIN Submit 50 hours of continuing education every three years Remain a MGMA member
FELLOWSHIP BUSINESS PLAN Identify Identify a relevant problem in healthcare which requires an innovative solution for the future. Topics must be relevant to the future of the healthcare industry and tied to the Body of Knowledge. Proposal From identifying a relevant opportunity, topic, or challenge in the medical practice leadership. What is your proposal solution. Plan Develop a strategic business plan for implementing your innovative solution to the chosen problem or issue.
