Observationof 1. experiment(E1) -starch metabolism A: OBSERVATION Some bacteria are visible because of thin layer of Lugolsolution. Smiley did not appear. B: OBSERVATION Smiley appeared. A B
Evalution of 1. experiment (E1) - starch metabolism A: EVALUATION Starch was not metabolised. The bacteria is not able to metabolise the starch. B: EVALUATION Starch was metabolised. The bacteria is able to metabolise the starch. A B
Result of 1. experiment (E1) - starch metabolism A: RESULT Escherichia coli B: RESULT Bacillus subtilis A B
Observation of 2. experiment (E2) oxygen need A: OBSERVATION Visible bacteria are on top of and inside the LB-agar. B: OBSERVATION Visible bacteria are only on top of LB-agar.
Evalution of 2. experiment (E2) oxygen need A: EVALUATION Bacteria A is facultative anareobe. B: EVALUATION Bacteria B is obligate aerobe.
Result of 2. experiment (E2) oxygen need A: RESULT Escherichia coli B: RESULT Bacillus subtilis
Observation of 3. experiment (E3) quick gram test A: OBSERVATION Mixture of KOH solution and bacteria A did not make the stitches. Viscosity of this mixture was greater than the mixture with bacteria B. A B: OBSERVATION Mixture of KOH solution and bacteria B did not make the stitches. Mixture have viscosity of water. B
Evalution of 3. experiment (E3) quick gram test A: EVALUATION Cell wall was broken. Gram negative bacteria. A B: EVALUATION Cell wall not was broken. Gram positive bacteria. B
Result of 3. experiment (E3) quick gram test A: RESULT Escherichia coli A B: RESULT Bacillus subtilis B
Conclusion of experiments E1 - E3 Bacteria A: Cannot metabolise starch. Facultative anareobe. Gram negative. Escherichia Escherichia coli Bacteria B: Can metabolise starch. Obligate aerobe. Gram positive. Bacillus Bacillus subtilis coli subtilis
Experiment 4 (E4) DNA isolation Sample 8.1 Human saliva Bacteria grew in pure colonies 8.1 Concentration: 90ng L 1 Sample 8.2 Human fingerprint Bacteria did not grow 12.2 Concentration: 64 ng L 1
