  5. Division 1 Kidlington OB 0 Middleton Cheney 2 Saturday, 06 September 2014 MC: Paul Carter, Mike Springall. The first half ended nil-nil with very few chances. In the first five minutes of the second half a handball in the box resulted in a penalty to Middleton Cheney converted by Mike Springall. After that both teams had good chance but the game was decided due to a defensive howler leading to Paul Carter scoring, making it 2-0 to Middleton Cheney and that's the way it stayed.

  7. Division 1 Marston Saints Reserves 0 Middleton Cheney 4 Saturday, 13 September 2014 Marston Saints reserves kicked off their Division one campaign with a home fixture against Middleton Cheney. After a slow start, with both teams passing the ball around nicely in the middle of the park without ever threatening their opponents goal, it was Middleton Cheney who took the lead. They reacted quicker after a stoppage in play and after a through ball, Josh Part rounded the keeper and placed the ball in the empty net. Marston started the second half the brighter and we're unlucky not equalise when Jason Hallett couldn't quite stretch enough to get his shot on target. On the hour, Cheney got the second goal of the game. Steve Ciballi scored from outside the box with a shot that dipped over the home keeper. As Marston pushed to try to get back in the game, Cheney picked them off twice on the counter attack with the ginger assassin Part helping himself to two more goals to complete his hat trick. Overall a good game, played in good spirit and well refereed by Tim Siret.

  9. Division 1 Charlton 4 Middleton Cheney 3 Saturday, 20 September 2014 Chalton: Stephen Gardiner (2), Kaseem Abidal , Adrian Field, Bletch: Scott Finch, Jack Fermor, Josh Haet An early season meeting between two of the pace setters for division 1 meaning at least one of the 100% records would fall this weekend. A minutes silence for a Charlton UTD team member who sadly passed away was upheld impeccably prior to kick off as a sign of respect for both the player and family & friends. Charlton UTD started extremely slow and despite kicking off, found themselves a goal down in under 2 minutes. A long kick up filed from the Cheney keeper caused havoc in the Charlton defence and after a game of head tennis and a tussle between the striker and the two centre backs, the ball was neatly lifted over the on rushing Terry Bagnall in goal and agonisingly over the line before the defender could get back on the line. Before long, the away side added a second and looked like running riot, further mistakes in the Charlton back line allowed several players to go unmarked in and around the box while after some neat footwork out-wide and a dinked cut back, the ball was smashed through the crowd into the far bottom corner from 18 Yards. The home side looked in trouble and were needing a boost. On cue, a long throw from Jason Allen dropped kindly in the box for Kaseem Abidal who controlled the ball, sat the defender down and smashed the ball past the keeper. Just on the stroke of halftime, another melee in the box allowed Stephen Gardiner to apply the finishing touch with a toe poke. The half time draw was somewhat harsh on Cheney who had created the better opportunities throughout the first half Half time 2-2

  10. After the turnaround Cheney did take the lead once more. Although again the mistake came from Charlton with them initially losing the ball in midfield, there was a lot to do when the break began. Some neat interchange football played at pace sent the Cheney striker through on goal who finished with aplomb to restore the advantage. Within a minute of falling behind, Charlton were level again through Stephen Gardiner scoring his and Charlton s second equalizer of the game. After receiving the ball on the edge of the area, he took one touch and hit the strike early on the half volley leaving the keeper wrong footed and unable to react to the shot. The game became stretched with both teams seeking a winner. Both teams missed clear chances to get what would be likely winners as the game looked destined for a draw but in the last minute Adrian Field met a low cross on the edge of the box on the half volley and the ball whistled past the keeper and into the net. The goal of the game and a worthy winner for any match confirmed Charlton UTD maintained their 100% record after 3 games going into a two week break in the fixture list. Full Time 4-3 The games was eventful, full of good football but laden with mistakes from both sides As to form the match was physical, on occasion overly so however, the game never boiled over and was well managed by the referee.
