  3. Democratic Socialist Model of Development Adopted by developing nations Believes in development by securing socialist goals using democratic means Actual operation proved inadequate

  4. Gandhian Model of Development He suggested that villages should be self- sufficient means they should produce their own food, clothing and other articles needed for meeting their basic needs. He insisted on the promotion of village or cottage industries and handicrafts because employment, necessary to meet the basic needs of the villagers and also facilitate village self- sufficiency He was against rapid industrialization. they can provide

Nehruvian Model of Development It is based on the four pillars of parliamentary democracy including secularism, economic planning for establishing a welfare estate and the policy of non-alignment.
