Modernizing Operations with SMAPS Source Maritime Automated Processing System (SMAPS) is a microservice that uses analyst- assisted processing. SMAPS employs: Machine Learning (ML) Natural Language Processing (NLP) SMAPS Goals: Automate the review, adjudication and fabrication of navigational warnings. The streamlined process will increase accuracy, significantly decreasing processing timelines and improve safety of navigation. 4
