Moorhead Youth Hockey Association MYHA Purpose Statement: Developing hockey players to their fullest potential while shaping future leaders through lessons of team sports and competition. MYHA Core Value Statement: MYHA believes in developing young people through the commitment, effort, discipline, perseverance, and humility it takes to train and compete to be their best.
Governance USA Hockey Annual Guide - Reviewed and updated annually by the USA Hockey Officials Minnesota Hockey Handbook - Reviewed and updated annually by the MN Hockey BOD Moorhead Youth Hockey Rules and Regulations - Reviewed and updated annually by the Hockey Director with input from the Hockey Committee and MYHA BOD
Organization Administrative Operations Hockey Operations Board of Directors Executive Director Arena Staff Retail Staff Office Staff Volunteers Gaming Manager Gaming Staff Responsibilities: financial management, administration, compliance, community relations, and anything else impacting long term financial sustainability Hockey Committee Hockey Director Level Coordinators Coaches Team Managers Team Responsibilities: hockey programming, curriculum, scheduling, coaches, and anything else impacting the hockey offering to the kids
VOLUNTEERING: RAFFLE and TOURNAMENTS Hockey Cost/Player: $3,500-$4,000 (Travel), $1,200-$1,500 (Inhouse) Offset by: Gaming (Gaming Staff) Concessions/Pro Shop (MYHA Staff) Sponsors (MYHA Staff) Private Ice Rental (MYHA Staff) MSC Management (MYHA Staff) Fundraising (MYHA Board of Directors) Raffle (Members) Tournaments (MYHA Board, Staff and Members)
INTRODUCTIONS Girls Coordinator-Kelsey Brovick Jr Gold Coordinator-Amanda Kutter Bantam Coordinator-Josh Arnold Peewee Coordinator-Tim Laurila Assist the Hockey Director with: Registration and placement of coaches Coaches' trainings and meetings Coordinate with the scheduler to fullfill practice and game account requirements Facilitate tryout process and team selections Facilitate grievance process for players, parents, coaches, MYHA Leadership and MN Hockey Officials
PRACTICE AND GAME SCHEDULES 3 practices every week Some practices are combined, and some are solo 2-4 road tournaments and 1 home tournament 30 game minimum (totals will vary) Most teams play a district schedule All scheduling goes through Aaron Herdt Specialty Training is included and mandatory

TRYOUT PROCESS Process Evaluation teams are tasked with evaluating for the purpose of team placement Injuries/illness procedures (see Rules and Regs) What can you do as a parent? Stay away, be positive, let them do it on their own Team posting- October 12-13 MEA Week-OFF First Practice dates-after MEA
Post Tryout-Parent Meetings 24 hours Meeting with the parent/guardian and the player We will only talk about your child Decisions will not be reversed Teams aren t final until December 31st
