NORTHWEST PORTLAND AREA INDIAN HEALTH BOARD Established in 1972, the Northwest Portland Area Indian Health Board (NPAIHB or the Board) is a non-profit tribal advisory organization serving the forty-three federally recognized tribes of Oregon, Washington, and Idaho. Each member tribe appoints a Delegate via tribal resolution, and meets quarterly to direct and oversee all activities of NPAIHB. Our mission is to eliminate health disparities and improve the quality of life of American Indians and Alaska Natives by supporting Northwest Tribes in their delivery of culturally appropriate, high quality healthcare.

  4. NORTHWEST TRIBAL DENTAL SUPPORT CENTER The Dental Support Center serves 36 dental programs. Out of the 43 federally- recognized tribes NPAIHB serves, 30 tribes have dental clinics. Oregon Six tribes Washington Twenty-one Idaho Three The other six programs are: Chemawa Seattle Indian Health Board NARA Two satellite clinics for Colville One satellite clinic for Yakama

GOALS AND OBJECTIVES Overall Goal: Improve the Oral Health of AI/AN people in the Northwest Provide training, quality improvement, and technical assistance to IHS/Tribal dental programs Provide Prevention program support Implement an Area-wide oral health surveillance system Provide continuing dental education opportunities
