  1. also known as The National Organization of Mothers of Twins Clubs Inc. National Worker Orientation 2018

  2. You are about to enter an exciting time of the next year volunteering for Multiples of America! Think outside of the box Participate in discussions with enthusiasm and respect for the opinions of others Learn and grow

  3. Meet Your Board of Directors Multiples of America aka NOMOTC is an all volunteer organization with one paid employee, our Executive Director Dawn Keller. Contact your Officer in Charge (OIC) if you need something from the Executive Office (EO)

  4. I Am A NW! Now What? What is an OIC? How do I know what I am supposed to do? Where do I find the information I need for my position? What if I am sick, or my children are sick, or there is an emergency?

  5. WHAT IS AN OIC? An Officer in Charge (OIC) is the elected officer (VP) or the appointed officer (Chair) heading your department. If you are on a committee, you may report to the Chairman rather than to the VP. Your department welcome letter should explain who you immediately report to. We use a lot of acronyms in our organization, please do not hesitate to ask your OIC should you not understand what we are saying.

  6. How do I know what to do? Procedures! There are a set of procedures for every position in the organization. Please check the website under either the Members Only or National Workers section for yours. If you cannot locate them, please contact your OIC for assistance. Checklists! Please see your departmental checklist to know what to do, when to do it, and to whom it should be submitted.

  7. What if I am sick or have a family emergency? Please let your OIC know any time that you will be away from your computer and/or phone for any length of time. We worry about you when we do not get a response. We expect you to respond to emails within 48 hours. If you expect to be offline longer than this at any time, please let your OIC know. If you have an illness in your family, please let your OIC know. Family comes first, and we want you to be there for your family, but we do appreciate a quick email letting us know that you will not be available due to a family emergency. We as leaders have deadlines to meet too, and if you are not able to complete an assignment due to an illness, we may need to reassign the work to someone else, or complete it ourselves. You are volunteering for this organization, which is a business. Please think of Multiples of America as another business you work for, and treat us with the same respect that you do your day job.

  8. COMMUNICATION IS KEY! Always check your emails daily Try to respond to emails in a timely fashion Keep your OIC informed if you will be offline or out of town Share your ideas Share your concerns Feedback appreciated

  9. Deadlines or Bust! Again, we all have deadlines to adhere to. Some departments are more critical, like the Education Department with Notebook. Keep a copy of your checklist next to your computer to stay on task. If you are having difficulty with a task, please let your OIC know as soon as possible so that they may assist you. Please remember: your task affects your OIC, whose deadline may affect another department or the President or the Executive Office in dissemeninating information to our member clubs and affiliate members. So please be on time if not earlier!

  10. National Worker Forms General Procedures Department Checklists Forms Mailings Job Descriptions/Procedures All of these can be found on the website either under Members Only or under National Workers

  12. SO HOW AM I DOING? Evaluations of you by your OIC - Meeting deadlines - Comprehension of position - Communication - Team and leadership skills Evaluation of your OIC/Supervisor - Indoctrination process - Communication - Leadership/direction/teamwork

  13. Evaluations Evaluations are performed twice per year: once right before midterm (late January early February), and right before convention (late June early July). Evaluations are done thru Survey Monkey and you will receive an email with the link from the Advisor at the appropriate time. These evaluations are important for all NW s. Whether or not you want to be an elected officer in the future, we do review the evaluations for appointments to positions as well. Please be honest in your evaluations. If your OIC is doing an outstanding job, please share that. If there is a particular thing they do that really stands out, please include that in the comments section. If your OIC does not communicate in a timely fashion or give you clear feedback on your position, please note that in the areas of improvement section. We are not trying to pick on someone, but we do like to know the areas in need of improvement. You are welcome to request a copy of your evaluation from the Advisor. Please email her at Advisor@multiplesofamerica.org for assistance.

  14. PROFESSIONALISM Representative of Multiples of America aka NOMOTC - Local club meetings as a NW, National Rep - State club meetings/ conventions/retreats - National related events

  15. You Are Multiples of America! This phrase was one established a long time ago, and still holds true today. We are all representatives of Multiples of America aka NOMOTC every time we stand up at a local club meeting, state function, or national function. Please act appropriately. Be respectful of others, use professional language and tone in presentations, and always represent yourself well. Share the enthusiasm for this organization with others! If you look like you love what you do for the organization, others will want to follow you and volunteer too. Encourage people to volunteer. Be the reason that they want to. Consequently, be the reason that people (and clubs) want to join our organization to be part of the Premier Multiple Birth Organization!

  16. Members Are The Key Our Goal: Increase membership in member clubs, simultaneously increasing membership in state organizations, and in Multiples of America!

  17. Help Membership Growth! When you are attending functions where there are clubs (or individuals) that are not members of Multiples of America, please share information and encourage them to join. If they have questions you are not comfortable answering, please encourage them to contact us via email at Info@multiplesofamerica.org or at MembershipVP@multiplesofamerica.org

  18. Be The Catalyst That Will Propel Us Ahead Coming together is the beginning, staying together is progress, and working together is success - Henry Ford

  19. Thank You! May you have a shining year like the stars that you are!
