  2. PGCert First Contact MSK Practice Pathway aligned with The Roadmap 2 component modules: 1. First Contact MSK Practice, (SE761) 2. Evaluation of Clinical Practice for First Contact MSK Practitioners, (SE786) These modules can also contribute to other awards including MSc award undergoing ACP accreditation in 2023. Slide 2

  3. Module 1 SE761 First Contact MSK Practice 4 weeks of task-based remote learning 3 full days of interactive teaching over Zoom Next cohort: online teaching starts 10th October 2022. Zoom teaching: 16-18 November. Slide 3

  4. Module 1 Key Features Aligns with Roadmap Stage 1 Wide range of MSK issues addressed, (align with KSAs) Minimal disruption to clinical work, (remote learning fits in around life!) Can be accessed prior to commencing FCP role Or once in a FCP role No supervision is required Slide 4

  5. Module 2 SE786 Evaluation of Clinical Practice for First Contact MSK Practitioners Based in clinical practice (no compulsory study leave) Supported by approximately 8 Zoom sessions on Wednesday evenings Cohorts follow Module 1, approx 6 months to complete coursework Slide 5

  6. Module 2 Key features: Aligns with Roadmap Stage 2 Clinical learning module, mentor does not need to be Roadmap trained Clinical mentor does not undertake summative assessment, has minimal documentation requirements Students are encouraged to access a range of professionals to support them. Coursework reflective of clinical reality: evidences impact of clinical mentoring includes e.g. audio recordings Slide 6

Course teams priorities: To minimise barriers to student success whilst maintaining educational quality Minimise need for essential study leave Pragmatic but robust approach to clinical mentoring Responsive to individual issues mature students have complicated lives To create opportunities for clinicians to enjoy Level 7 study Local Training Hubs have expressed desire to support financially Slide 7
