You can also take the 15 credit route, which is all in-service credits

  8. Approval of Courses All courses must be pre-approved by Human Resources at least 30 days before the courses begin. You must apply for pre-approval on My Learning Plan for all courses. Even if a course is on the pre-approved list, you still have to fill out the form on My Learning Plan. (It doesn t have to be 30 days in advance, though.) Fill out the 2016-2017 Teacher Course App on My Learning Plan Make sure to check the box for Salary Adjustment Also check the box for 175 hours requirement box if it applies to you

  9. Moving Through the Salary Plan You are responsible for filling out and submitting the paperwork to Human Resources. You will NOT automatically move to the next level, or be granted a salary adjustment without submitting the paperwork. It is up to you whether you submit blocks of credits before advancing through the salary plan for salary adjustment. Everyone s financial situation is different. If you have questions, seek out a KNOWLEDGEABLE source. You may use credits that you have taken prior to working for BOCES, if related to your job, but only for level movement purposes, not for salary adjustment. You will receive longevity increases automatically when you have been with BOCES for 20 and 25 years, respectively. If your start date is later than September 1st, you will receive your longevity the following September 1st.

  10. Moving through the salary plan continued . When you are first moving into Level 4A or 4B, you may submit 2 blocks for salary adjustment for the first 2 years. You may continue to take credits and submit 1 block for a salary adjustment (12 credits or 15 credits) every year after reaching Level 4A or 4B. Salary adjustments are granted as of September 1st. Human Resources has five months from the date of BOCES receipt of the application to process the salary adjustment. You will receive retroactive pay if your application is processed after September 1st.
